It was just a question of time when me and Alba would visit this café / bar. When we noticed they serve chai as well, it was clear where we would try the last chai before wrapping up our test.
ALBA
The Foam: Quite a thin layer of foam, nicely decorated and already tasty. 7.5/10
The Chai: Served in a simple but nice black cup with a plate, this chai deserves the "Warmest Chai Award" - it only took 15 chais to get there! :D So I was already on board with it from the first "almost burning my tongue but really enjoying it" sip, but it was also very tasty and spicy. 8/10
The Overall Experience: The moment has come... (dramatic music in the background...)
OUR. LAST. CHAI.
For such a special moment in our chai quest we decided to go to Cobra, a very nice bar in Holešovice (as much as we really tried to spread our chai testing throughout Prague, you can maybe see that we really like our own neighborhoods :D). We visited this place on what was supposed to be the last week of winter (ha-ha, old naive Margita and Alba... full of springy dreams). Nicely decorated (in love with the walls), smiley staff, good food, tasty chai and nice wine... What else can one ask for on a snowy day? :) 9/10
MARGITA
The Foam: Spicy and smooth with a cute drawing, not too thick, but thick enough. 8/10
The Chai: This was not only our last chai latte, but also the first one served in a simple black cup. It was a very spicy and yet gentle and smooth-tasting chai I drank with great pleasure. Maybe also the nostalgia-factor made me enjoy it even more. 8.5/10
The Overall Experience: Cobra is a place people fell in love with right after it had opened its doors. It's interesting to observe this bar during different seasons of the year. In summer, people sit or stand outside and engage in lively conversations. In winter, you can see the dim-lit place and people having a good time with their date or a group of friends. (I'm not a café-stalker, my tram just passes by this place every day!)
I had to wait a bit for Alba, so I was reading through the menu and I noticed and really liked the creative and funny names of the Cobra cocktails, my favorite being Will You Martini Me? (The answer is - YES!)
Right after I took a seat, the waiter put a bottle of water in front of me and asked if there will be two of us. When I confirmed, she brought an additional glass and waited until Alba arrived to take our order. When the waitress heard we spoke English together, she brought Alba the menu in English. If this is not attentiveness level 9000, I don't know what is!
One great thing about Cobra is that they don't take themselves too seriously. The atmosphere is very laid-back, open and vibrant and they don't shy away from playing not the most typical hipster-music. Goodbye, electro and hello, Toto! (This song has been haunting me since I've started rewatching Scrubs and it appears at the most random places!) The chill vibe, the attentive waiters and the great drinks make this bar / café a very special place definitely worth a visit! 9/10
Price of the chai: 65 CZK / 2.60 EUR
