ALBA
The Foam: Thin layer of foam with a nice heart on top, quite flat in flavor. 6/10
The Chai: As anticipated in the foam the chai didn't really have a strong or spicy flavor and it was too milky for my taste. On the bright side, nice warm temperature! 5.5/10
The Overall Experience: I was really looking forward to S&I as I had been there once before in the summer, in the absolutely lovely garden, and I had nice memories :)
However, the autumn experience was not as satisfactory. This time the place, even though beautiful and nicely decorated (great table design!), was extremely noisy and packed and it made it a bit hard to enjoy a nice conversation. Anyway, the experience was great as I got an amazing birthday present and my new favorite piece of clothing :D 6.5/10
MARGITA
The Foam: Sweet and rather milky and a thinner layer than other chais tested. 5/10
The Chai: The chai in this place is being sold under the name Royal Chai. The name was reflected especially in the size of the beverage (and in the price, but who would really care in case it would be the best chai you've ever had?). The chai truly came king-sized, in a white, pure-style customized XXL-cup. Recently I've started to notice the warmth of "winter drinks" (thanks, Alba!) and I have to say this one was on the warmer side. The chai itself was too milky for my taste, surprisingly without strong presence of spices and even sweetness. 4/10
The Overall Experience: I remember one summer day last year, me sitting in the garden of S&I, sipping on a glass of nice wine and enjoying this bubble of peace and quiet in the heart of the city*. Maybe this time we came at the wrongest of times, but the noise during our visit was almost unbearable. The tables were super-close to one another, which felt like sharing a table with the couple next to us. As time went by people started leaving and we didn't have to shout that much at one another. This chai test took place on a special day (Alba's birthday) and I gave her just the loudest congrats ever. But hey, at least she could excitedly scream once she unwrapped my gift (#selfpat).
The staff is professional and seems quite knowledgeable and they are just the right amount of friendly. Visiting this place is a nice experience given the fact you can look at cute tables, lovely decorations and get inspired if you want to, but to make your visit perfect you'd really need to fit into the time-span of not too many people being there.
In the end, we even got the wine that evening someplace else. 5/10
*Note: We were not there together with Alba :D
Price of the chai: 79 CZK / 3.10 EUR
